Introduction

What is a Burial Vault ? A burial vault is a lined and sealed outer receptacle that houses the casket.

It protects the casket from the weight of the earth and heavy maintenance equipment that will pass over the grave. It also helps resist water and preserves the beauty of the cemetery or memorial park by preventing the ground from settling.

If it's not lined and sealed ... it's not a Burial Vault An outer burial container, or grave box, is an unlined concrete box with drainage holes to allow ground water to escape. Burial vaults are constructed of high-strength concrete and reinforced with a metal or plastic liner. They provide the most lasting protection.

By definition, if an outer burial container is not lined and sealed, it’s not a burial vault.

What will be at the graveside? The burial vault is usually set at the graveside for a brief service before interment. After the service, the cover will be placed over the base and sealed, and the grave will be backfilled, compacted, and then seeded or sodded.

Wilbert Legacy Series™ Prints

Wilbert Legacy Series Prints add color, depth, and heart-stirring grace to the covers of the Triune® series and Venetian burial vaults. When blended onto the carapace, each of 12 available scenes creates the illusion of being printed directly on the cover with subtly varying effects.

Wilbert has included several of the vibrant visual stories from the art of Ray Simon, which are available for the Triune® series and Venetian® burial vault carapaces.

Simon created the paintings exclusively for Wilbert to celebrate and commemorate American service to family, community, and country. When applied to the carapace, each vivid color portrait extends and transcends a tribute with emotions and images that linger long after a loved one has been honored.

Wilbert Legacy Custom Series Prints offer families the ultimate in capturing and displaying the essence of their loved one. Photographs are chosen by the family from their collections for the creation of a one-of-a-kind collage. The unique, totally personalized image is then applied to the cover of the vault for display at the graveside service.

Personalization Plus™

Wilbert’s Personalization Plus program allows families to personalize a Triune® series burial vault or urn vault with a specially chosen image that celebrates their loved one’s life.
